Comment:

Stumbled upon this beach while looking for Betal beach, driving for hours and just needed a swim. Quaint fishing village, all locals, no hotels or western style restaurants on Canaquinim beach. Water was sublime and setting out of this world, palm trees everywhere! Made me feel like I was transported back 50 years in time! Asked around for restaurant and a local women offered us some amazing Goan Fish Curry. Walked to her house, family took out a plastic table and chairs near the beach, gave us cold beer and water and next came one of the best Indian dishes i ever tasted! These are the moments when traveling that you cherish forever!

Comment:

I can’t believe this beach is listed on this site… no big Goa hotels around. Unless I write this post in Russian, don’t think anybody really knows about this place and feel a bit guilty writing about it. My boyfriend and I were on driving back from a lovely bike ride from Betal beach to Palolem and we were told to stop at Canaguinim beach along the way. It’s a relatively small beach by Goa standards, but the lush surroundings make up for it. There seemed to be a group of Russians renting a beach house here and felt like we were intruding their privacy. No Private Beach signs around, so we just sat back and enjoyed the view. A boy from a house nearby asked us if wanted a beer and kindly came back with 2 kingfishers! The water was clean, warm and the looked more clear than other Goa beaches. Just felt untouched really and didn’t feel like leaving… maybe next time I’ll look into renting a beach house in Goa!!!
