Good Points: less crowded than most north goa beaches
Bad Points: beach shacks charge extra for using sun beds
Comment:

Candolim beach is located to the south of Calangute and Baga beaches and much less crowded too! Don’t get bothered as much by the beach sellers, not as dirty, less sun beds and water sports not as noisy. Some of the beach shacks will try to charge you extra for using their sun beds, but if you order lunch the extra fee is usually removed. Also nice night out having dinner on the beach and watching the fireworks at night time. Some of the shacks really put on a show and sometimes in completion with each other. Bang on fun!

Good Points: great Goa hotel finds during monsoon
Bad Points: possible rain, humid smell
Comment:

Best time to visit Goa? I would say monsoon time. Attended a business conference this September in Delhi and decided to travel in Goa before leaving India. I was told by my colleagues in Delhi that Goa was not the best option since it was monsoon. I didn’t know what to expect, but coming from the pacific coast.. I was not bothered too much by the rain. Found goabooking.com on the net and booked a room at The O Hotel in Candolim beach.
I flew with Kingfisher airlines from Delhi to Goa, got a very good monsoon special fare; service, food and comfort beyond what I expected. Arrived at Goa Dabolim airport and took a pre-paid taxi ride to Candolim beach, approx. 1200 INR. Pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the hotel, grounds and garden leading up to the reception was lush and the colors vibrant. Hotel staff was friendly, sometimes too much but always felt taken care of. There was a musky odor when I open my hotel room door, humid smell from monsoon but as soon as the A/C was on, the smell disappeared.
By the time I woke up the next morning, the rain had stopped and the sun was out so I went out to the beach for a walk. The main beach attraction is the River Princess ship that’s grounded out at sea. Seems like the local authorities have been trying to have the ship removed for years but the process is stuck in Indian bureaucracy. The sea was rough so didn’t swim, but did sit down on the sand and enjoyed the sun beaming down on my face. The beach is long with patches of palm trees, and mostly just observed the fisherman pulling in their nets and seeing what the catch of the day was!
Had great weather for the 4 days while I was there, only rained early in the morning and late at night. I would definitely recommend Candolim beach to anybody coming for a holiday to Goa, especially during monsoon time when everything in India is lush, green and much cheaper too!

Good Points: amazing beach but…
Bad Points: river princess, goa tourism
Comment:

Been coming to Goa for years and I just don’t get it… you have 1 one the most BEAUTIFUL beaches in north Goa, tourist from all over India and the world coming here and stayin in amazing 5 star hotels BUT then there's this thing of a boat just stares back at you from the arabian sea. River Princess boat that ran a ground on Candolim beach about a decade ago is BIG and doesn't fit into that stunning view you wish to see when you look at the sea. Heard Goa tourism government was supposed to remove the boat in 2010 but its still there! BTW, Taj holiday village hotel is fab place to stay... besides the boat, Candolim beach is lovely. Just cannot believe its still there!
