"Anjuna beach ok, hotel could have been better"

| Good Points: | Casa Anjuna, Sublime, Lilla Café, Ingo’s night market |
| Bad Points: | Laguna Anjuna staff and swimming pool |
Recently returned from a 3 vacation in Goa and spent the first few days at Laguna Anjuna near Anjuna beach. Didn’t have the best experience at the hotel, A/C broke down after dinner one evening and the hotel maintenance was not able to fix it. Since the hotel was fully booked, we had no choice but stay in a non A/C room for a night. Room didn’t have any windows and was very stuffy, had to keep door open all night and room was filled with mosquito’s. My wife and I didn’t enjoy the hotel pool or food either, so we decided to check out after staying there only 3 days.
Just across the soccer field in Anjuna, we found Casa Anjuna… more traditional place to stay, charming Goan style rooms and fantastic swimming pool. Also the same price as Laguna Anjuna hotel!!!
Anjuna beach is ok, seen better beaches in Goa but I can understand why people come here. Anjuna beach is Goa party central, not much happening in the rest of the state so lots do in the area.. Anjuna Flea Market, Ingo’s night market, shopping, great food at Sublime’s and at Lilla’s Café in Baga, good night clubs, Hill Top, West End and lovely locals and foreigners to meet. Overall coming to Anjuna beach was a great experience, just too bad first hotel wasn’t comfortable.
"Nicer beaches in Goa then Anjuna"

| Good Points: | many restaurants, bars and watersports |
| Bad Points: | watch for rocks when swimming |
Nice place, lots to do but Anjuna beach is not one of the best beaches in Goa. Its rocky so be careful swimming. Also a bit overcrowded. Personally, I prefer south Goa beaches.

| Good Points: | hanging out in Anjuna beach and Chapora |
| Bad Points: | enfield motorcycle breaking down too often |
Rented an Enfield Bullet 350 cc motorcycle near Vagator petol pump for about 500 INR per day and had the best time riding the back roads from Anjuna beach to Chapora. Cool hang out places, beautiful people and peaceful vibe. Brought me back to my old hippie days! Just had a few problems getting the bike going.. but once I got the hang of it.. it was an amazing ride!!!
"Anjuna Market, Mackies Market or Ingo’s Market?"

| Bad Points: | Mackies Market |
Heard many friends over the years talk about how wonderful Goa markets are… and recently had a chance to check them out myself. Remember, to get the BEST DEALS when shopping in Goa ... bargaining is mandatory! ?
Anjuna Wednesday Market – the best place to be mid week in Goa! Market open early, 8am and goes right through until sunset. Mostly goods from all over India and some western made clothes as well. Food from all over the world here, cool hippie vibe and sometimes and nice party vibe is created around sunset time.
Mackies Saturday Night Market – located off the Baga river road its open from sunset until around 11pm at night. All Indian goods, sometimes good live music and ok food. More of a cheap Indian tourist option.
Ingo’s Saturday Night Market – my favorite Goa market by far! Located in Arpora, just a 2 or 3 kms away from Anjuna, it has everything in a market you can ask for. Fantastic finds here, great mix of Indian and foreign made clothes, amazing food for every part of the world, great live music, drinking and dancing! Also Go Karting next door for the kids!
"Anjuna Market, nice to go once but would not go back"

| Good Points: | beach maybe, Oxford supermarket |
| Bad Points: | expensive for India |
Been planning a trip to India for a few months and my friends kept telling me.. WHEN IN GOA YOU HAVE TO GO TO ANJUNA MARKET. Been there, done that and don’t think I’ll ever go back. Too much of hype, shopping ok, you can get most things from other places in India for half the price. There was music and dancing around but didn’t evolved into one of those Goa beach hippie parties I so often heard about. Lots of police around which kind of spoiled the mood too. Better experience is Ingo’s Saturday Night mkt in Arpora. Beach is ok, but many more nice beaches around Goa.
"Anjuna December 2010"

| I am from: | London |
| Travelling Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | sunset drinks at Curlies |
| Bad Points: | twatted tourist on beach |
After a horrible time leaving London coz of bad weather we finally arrived in Goa late in the afternoon. Check into Hotel Laguna Anjuna, had a quick shower, rented 2 honda scooter bikes for 300 rupees/ 4 pounds a day and went straight down to Anjuna beach for sunset drinks at Curlies Bar. Music and food are top here, great sandwiches but service is poor… what to expect when in India? Anjuna beach is beautiful but to be avoided during Wednesday Market… too many drunk Indians all over the place.. sorry. Regardless, great place to chill and meet beautiful people.
