"Not exactly 5-star, but good!"
| Date of Stay: | March 2011 |
| I am from: | Mangua, Nicaragua |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Cottages are good, garden lovely, view good, food good |
| Bad Points: | Service not 5-star type, food expensive |
Was recommended by a friend who stayed here earlier. I can say I liked the place, enjoyed it but did not find 5-star level. Many things fall short of expectation – especially service. The food is good but very expensive. Other than the breakfast buffet I did not like much. When ordering from menu, I found the prices staggering even for a 5-star hotel. Better eat at beach shack a little away from the hotel. Pool is small, and private beach is almost not there.
I did love the ambiance and the view. The restaurant also has a view – which adds a lot to the ambiance. The gardens around the cottage are superb. Maintenance is good – but the hotel looks worn out. I enjoyed the recreation room; but the golf course was a joke. Beach is good for sunbathing, but is not clean. Insects are all over it – and even stray dogs. Sunbeds had fallen into neglect. Candolim beach in just a few minutes away – best to go there for swimming and sunbathing.
What surprised me is that the staff are impersonal. Goan hospitality is one great attraction to this place. I was surprised and not so pleased that service was so poor, staff so cold.
The best of this place is the spa. Amazing experience. Loved it and enjoyed it. This is one thing that is truly 5-star.
Overall a nice hotel. Definitely not 5-star level but a good hotel nonetheless.

"GOAN HOSPITALITY AT ITS BEST!!"

| Good Points: | Portuguese style lovely rooms, staff great with kids, excellent view, excellent food, spa is wonderful |
| Bad Points: | None |
We were travelling with 2 year old twins and we always have trouble with hotels. Not at Taj Holiday Village. The staff were superb with the children. They served food for the children at odd hours, made special dishes for them, entertained them when crying and overall been super for the children.
If for nothing else, I give them FULL MARKS for this particular service. But the food was great too. The breakfast buffet was mind-blowing. The lanscapping is very impressive, and the bar in the swimming pool – WOW! We also loved the spa – which was phenomenal.
This is a hotel that offers Goan hospitality at its best. Our holiday enjoyment was multiplied many times over for their care and excellent hospitality. LOVED THIS PLACE!!

| I am from: | Boston, UK |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Spotless rooms, quick service, excellent Indian cuisine, served excellent British cuisine, stunning view from room and restaurant |
| Bad Points: | Bitten by ants on the beach |
We loved the place for it made us comfortable and wanted. We had excellent British cuisine served just as we wanted it – which is a first for us in India. The rooms service was super quick, which was again another first even in 5-star hotels.
The only downside to our stay was that my wife was bitten by ants on the beach which created some discomfort. The in-house doctor however was very helpful and a lot attention was showered to ensure she recovers fast.
The pool bar was nice and the breakfast HUGE. The best was the restaurant for it has a view to die for. Not to mention superb food both Indian and British.
THIS IS ONE GREAT HOTEL!!! WILL COME BACK AGAIN!! AND AGAIN!!!

| Bad Points: | Horrible service, sub-standard rooms, food costly and not worth the price, hotel looks tired and worn out, impersonal staff |
Very disappointed with the service and food. Even rooms were not clean. The pool was not clean. Not expected from a hotel under Taj umbrella. Never go back here.

| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Staff lovely, excellent Goan food, awesome property |
| Bad Points: | No complaints |
I have always stayed at 5-star hotels but this one has taken my breath away. It has totally awesome property and the ambiance is par excellence. I loved the food – which I cannot say for many 5-star hotels here. The Goan food especially is superb here.
They have a private beach where you can sunbathe in peace the whole day if you so want. The swimming has a swim-up bar – excellent!! The little villas have wonderfully landscaped gardens around it making it an amazing place to stay. Their ability to pay attention to details is amazing – whether it is food, service, or accommodation. I had an AWESOME VACATION and I am coming BACK FOR MORE!!

| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Great View, lovely restaurant, good buffet food |
| Bad Points: | Beach could be better |
Very convenient stay. Breakfast at Caravela is kingsize. The rooms are very charming for their rustic interior décor. Loved the swim up bar – but would have preferred the pool to be larger.
Check out the Calamri Beach Shack on the beach just about 500 meters away from the hotel – WOW food!!
I loved all about the Taj Holiday Village with the exception of the golf course – which is pathetic. Everything else is too good here. A GREAT PLACE!!

| Bad Points: | Reception not as helpful as should be; rooms small |
Stayed last year at its sister concern – Fort Aguada and loved the place. Decided to take a look at the Taj Holiday this year and we loved this placed, too.
Found the reception not up to the mark – but all other things made up for it. The service was great, food was lovely.
Had a MOST RELAXING HOLIDAY!!

Always stayed in 5-star hotels but this is the first time we stayed at Taj. Loved the experience. There is a lot to discover and enjoy so you will not have a dull moment. Children had lots of fun. Buffet good. The best thing about the place is its location – SUPERB, EXCELLENT, BEAUTIFUL.

| Good Points: | Great Pasta, Lovely Swimming Pool Bar, Great Thai Restaurant, Large and GOOD Buffet Spread |
| Bad Points: | Beach is not that good, swimming pool very small |
Enjoyed the stay at Taj Holiday Village for the hotel is huge and very well maintained. I loved the lavish breakfast – frankly after gorging on the food served in the morning I could go the whole day without anything solid. The swimming pool bar is excellent.
Loved the Chef’s Specialty on Pasta!!

"BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!!!"
| Date of Stay: | April 2011 |
| I am from: | New Delhi |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Has a golf course, great buffet, good rooms, huge property, staff courteous and friendly |
| Bad Points: | Swimming pool tiny, not so great kids activity center, food pricey, housekeeping not upto the mark |
The Taj Holiday Village is extremely beautiful. The restaurant by the sea is simply amazing. I enjoyed it a lot. The service was good, but then I expected that from Taj. The recreational room is good – especially the billiards table.
There is a 5-hole golf course there and this is wonderful. However, I think that it would be better if the golf course would be removed and the swimming pool made larger – for you cannot swim in the sea so one would need the pool for it and the pool here is rather small and cramped.
Food is tasty and well prepared but the buffet is limited. The prices on the menu when you want to order a-ala-carte are quite high. Overall however it is a great vacation spot.
I loved the place for it is BEEEEAUTIFUL!!!

"GREAT PLACE!! Could be even better"
| Date of Stay: | January 2011 |
| I am from: | Abu Dhabi |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Spa is WOW, food was great, service outstanding |
| Bad Points: | Rooms are small, Pool is small, Buffet spread could be better, hotel could do with an overall renovation |
We always come to India around this time and usually stay for a week in Goa. We love this place. We found Taj Holiday Village to be just what we expected – great hospitality, good food and overall a great stay.
The pool is a little too small, and I would say the rooms too. The cottages are really cool. We had a lot of fun here – especially at the spa which is sooooooooo goooooooooood!!!

"Taj Holiday Village Has No Beach???"
| Date of Stay: | May 2011 |
| I am from: | New Delhi |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Comfortable rooms, great service, good food |
| Bad Points: | A little pricey even as a 5-star hotel, swimming pool is too small for the caliber of the hotel; the “private” beach is all but gone; buffet limited; rooms are smaller than other 5-star hotels (Hyatt) |
Best rooms in the Taj Holiday Village are on the ground floor in the South Side. The rooms are newly decorated and very pleasant. I did not like that the pool is too small for the caliber of the hotel. Goa means beaches – and Taj Holiday Village lost theirs to soil erosion.
I loved the ship that is marooned almost on the beach – though many do not. It did add an eerie touch to the beach – but in a exciting way. I found the beach side poorly attended. Had to look for attendant to clean the sunbeds and get towels. Since the children and I love the beach – this was a great put down. The Taj Holiday Village is not the place to be is you want to enjoy the beach – for there is no beach. For whatever that is, the hotel’s share for caring about it is minimal.
The place is okay – but I was disappointed on many accounts; maybe because I kept comparing it to Hyatt where we stayed just a few months ago. For the same price range, I found it a little depressing.

| Good Points: | Lovely rooms, superb sea facing restaurant |
| Bad Points: | Cramped swimming pool, worn out look |
Stayed at Taj for a 3-day workshop. I loved the facilities. I loved the rooms. But most of all I loved the restaurant. I felt like I am standing right next to the sea. Plus, the food was the best I had in a very long time. I am totally hooked to this hotel. Will definitely come back with my family.
