"Hmmmmm, Could be better"
| Date of Stay: | November 2009 |
| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Good rooms, close to a good beach, superb food, nice staff |
| Bad Points: | No ESPN channel!!!! No tawa rotis, Rs.40 for bottled water charged, good pool, lots of sunbeds and space |
Overall the Holiday Inn was cool. Has superb rooms that are comfortable and clean. Was surprised and very annoyed later to learn they do not have ESPN or any leading sports channel on the TV plan. This is unforgivable in a 5-star hotel. And they charged us Rs.40 for bottled water which other hotels give for free. I think this was shameful.
Another very annoying thing was that they did not inform us about the time table of the sightseeing trip – which was free with our plan – until we asked for it. It looked like they were hoping we would not ask. Very disappointing coming from a 5-star hotel.
The restaurant serve superb food. All of them. But we found that they do not make tawa roties. Very sad. We were tired at one point of time with the tandoor rotis.
Overall we had a nice time as the hotel is good; but we expected much more from a 5-star hotel!!!

"THE VERY BEST THERE IS!!"
| Date of Stay: | December 2009 |
| I am from: | Oradea, Romania |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Good hotel, beach close by, prawn very good, great weather |
| Bad Points: | Pool needs better maintenance, room services a little slow |
This is one of the best hotels we stayed. We had stayed at the Mariott which is as good. I liked the food so much. The pool was okay but often very crowded so not much fun. The beach however was good and very close. Liked the food at a beach side restaurant. The name was Betty’s. Must go there if you like seafood and Goan cuisines. The beer here is so cheap and good. We spent many days doing nothing but eating prawns and drinking all day long. Ohhhhhh!! That is what I call vacation.
This is the best!! THE VERY BEST!!

"Gr8 Time 4midable Hotel!!!"
| Date of Stay: | December 2009 |
| I am from: | Geelong, Australia |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Gr8 staff, super cool food, best staff |
| Bad Points: | Very less Goan music in live entertainment shows |
Am basically Indian settled for the last 35 years in Australia. My family and I always loved Goa and once in 2-3 yrs we make it a point to take a vacation to this wonderful place.
Found this hotel *****!!! Loved everything in it and about it. Kudos to the staff who are too good. We completely freaked out on seafood. We did not think we could eat so many prawn and lobsters and not get sick of it. Super cool food. Wow food! Totally mindblwoing!!!
We missed Goan music which is so good. There was live music but very less Goan type. Should have more Goan music for that is why people come to Goa.
SUPER COOL HOTEL!!!

"NOT WHAT I EXPECTED OF 5-STAR HOTEL!!"
| Date of Stay: | October 2010 |
| I am from: | Kolkata, India |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | The location was perhaps the only good point I found; beach was good |
| Bad Points: | Rooms good but smelling terribly, pool overcrowded, mosquito infestation, noisy A/c and squicky ceiling fan, no quality vegetarian dishes, gym poorly equipped and what was there was not working, charges for spa too high |
Stayed for a whole week and hated the hotel for nothing was up to the mark. My children refused to get into the pool for it was overcrowded and had not separate place for children. They went to the activity room and the library was okay. When they wanted to take roller skating classes they could not get their size roller skates. Pathetic. Had to spend hours to pacify the children later.
Food was terrible. Though assured that they provide veg food there was nothing good in the hotel. Had to find other hotels for proper veg meals. The travel desk was another no show. They could not point us to any good places. We had to orient ourselves with information from taxi drivers and shopkeepers to find directions for best places to see around Cavelossim and in general Goa.
This is definitely not what we expected of a 5-star hotel. Very sorry to have booked it.

"Very Happy To Found The Holiday Inn"
| Date of Stay: | August 2010 |
| I am from: | New Delhi, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Lovely beach, fantastic food, cordial staff, plaza deluxe room has phenomenal, hotel arranges scooters and self-driven cars |
| Bad Points: | Sightseeing tours were boring and slow |
Stayed at the Holiday Inn plaza deluxe room that gives a phenomenal view. We fell in love with the hotel when we saw the room. The meals at Mardi Grass were more than we asked for. There were three time buffet spread and each time there was different food and good too. Not once in 8 days we had the same food twice.
One more great thing in this hotel is the housekeeping. The room is immediately made when you leave it so every time you get back you find the place clean and settled. It gave a very good feeling.
The staff were superb. We just had to ask and they always went out of the way to help us. They arranged cars and scooters for hire whenever we needed and gave advice about where we get best deals.
I am happy we found this hotel. Had a superb holiday. COMING BACK SOON!!!

"Rainy Season Is No Fun!! "
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Adelaide, Australia |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Superb staff, great activity centre for kids, outstanding food, superb rooms, impeccable housekeeping, large pool |
| Bad Points: | Nothing! |
We had reserved an one bedroom apartment at the Holiday Inn and we are warmly surprised to see that it had 2 bedrooms, complete with kitchenette. We loved the large bathrooms and the simple yet very pleasant interior décor.
Among all the things we just loved was the way the staff handled the kids. We have two kids aged 5 and 8 and they are both naughty. We are always worried about how they behave outside and this hotel was a great change for us. They were always engaged with painting, dancing, playing with the staff. The staff are well trained to handle children who are super active. To be frank, even I could not be as patient as they were with my children. Very grateful to Michelle who managed the kids area – wonderful woman.
We were looking forward to have lot of fun on the beach, but because it was the monsoon time, there were no water sports anywhere. That was very disappointing. Instead we went to Betul which is a small village a few kilometers away from the hotel and watched the local fishermen in action in the Sal River. After 3 days we made friends with some of the locals and for A$25 we had a boat to ourselves the whole day. Loved it, but we still missed watersports and eating at various beach restaurants or shacks as mentioned in other Holiday Inn reviews.
The hotel was great – no complaints here. It could not have been better. But monsoons is not so much fun as we thought.

"PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!"
| Date of Stay: | December 2009 |
| I am from: | Canberra Australia |
| Trip Style: | Group of friends |
| Good Points: | Quiet, pleasant, hospitable, soft and comfortable beds, superb housekeeping |
| Bad Points: | - |
We reserved our room some 3 months in advance for Christmas holiday. On arriving we found that the room we had booked was not exactly in top condition. Disappointed we complained to the lovely lady who welcomed us, Jovita and we were promptly whisked to another room, which was perfect. Had lunch at Mardi Grass restaurant which we loved. We ate every day and we were very impressed to note that the food was not once repeated. Our waiter, Dataprasad was superb. I have never felt so welcome in my life.
The beach was about 3 minutes walking and we loved it. I was warned by my friends that beaches in India would be dirty and uninviting. But this beach was just wonderful. There were coast guards and the beach was clean and so very inviting.
What impressed us beyond words was the housekeeping. Every time we returned to the room in the evening, the rooms was clean and made up. Formidable!
The greatest assets of this hotel are the staff. Our fondest memories are of the warmth and attention showered on us by the staff.

"SUPER VALUE FOR MONEY"
| Date of Stay: | September 2010 |
| I am from: | Tokyo, Japan |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Magnificent beach, food great, buffet was excellent, best view ever |
| Bad Points: | Room key cards were no too good; elevators unreliable |
Arrived at the hotel after a refreshing Kingfisher flight and found that Goa is the home of a beer by the same name. The rooms we stayed was on the 10th floor and offered a superb view. We loved the food which was diverse and had plenty of fresh seafood.
We had however had to come down to the reception twice within a week’s time because the key-cards were not working at all.

"ALL I EVER WANTED IN A BEACH HOTEL!"
| Date of Stay: | November 2010 |
| I am from: | Perth, Australia |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Room was fresh and well furnished, king size beds, superb view of the Arabian Sea |
| Bad Points: | Breakfast buffet was repetitive; gym was little fatigued; food is not too great |
We stayed for a whole week at this hotel, and enjoyed it plenty. Our room had a huge Plasma TV set which our daughter loved. Housekeeping was very good. I loved that the hotel could serve coffee very early in the morning – I love my morning coffee and I always missed it.
I had stayed here when this hotel was the Ana hotel and I love the transformation. The rooms are friendlier and definitely nicer. The bathroom is beautiful and modern and has a window overlooking the room. This is great for honeymooners, not so cool when you have children in the same room as even if you close the window it does not shut off the view completely.
The pool was lovely though we spent less time in and around it as we preferred the beach which was just about 100 meters away.
This hotel is good, but the staff makes it great. They are friendly, with a warm disposition and always ready to help.
Loved our stay here. Had a superb holiday!

"Delighted With The Hotel And Service!!"
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Food fabulous, swimming pool beautiful, private beach, great activity, posh location, deluxe hotel |
| Bad Points: | Not enough lounge chairs available; the pool was not too great |
We booked some 8 months in advance but when we arrived there was no record of it. However, the staff recovered fast and we were given a superior room, which was wonderful. The interior décor was warm and the room was smelling fresh – unlike many hotel rooms which smell terrible even if they are clean. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
The staff is wonderful and it made our stay simply amazing. The large pool was overcrowded and the two small ones were too small. We found that sometimes there was no lounge chairs because other guests called in non-guests. We preferred to go to the beach instead which is just a few minutes away.
The food was superb, but menu was limited. We discovered a little Chinese restaurant opposite the road that serves superb food. I loved the place and recommend it whole heartedly.
