"Is This a Hotel or A Wish Come True From Mother Fairy???"
| Date of Stay: | October 2009 |
| I am from: | Netherlands |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Jacuzzi superb, beer in the pool, greatest staff ever, huuugeee breakfast, offers plan for your holiday all with prepaid fares; staff do not expect for tips |
| Bad Points: | Addictive place; once you see cannot leave it |
What is it you want from a holiday? Fun, comfort and pampering. This is one hotel where you get all the three without any problem whatsoever. The staff here are genuinely concerned about you which touched me to tears.
You have a vast choice of cuisine served here and everything you chose is a masterpiece of a maestro in the kitchen. It is poetry in motion. I put on about 10 pounds during my 21 days stay in Goa. You cannot just stop eating. As if the food inside was not good enough, I discovered some more fantastic restaurants – Mum’s Kitchen for the best Goan cuisine you can imagine. Edu’s is less sophisticated but the food is just as superb. When you go to Calangute, which is about 20 minutes by road stop by Frannie’s Shack. A couple runs it and all the food is A1.
I stayed at Leela last year and found Mariott relatively cheap when comparing to other hotels of similar stature. Whatever other things may be, this hotel has perhaps the best ever service I have experienced.
Movement by taxi is cheap and recommended. It takes about £1.4 to get to the city center and about 5-10 minutes away.
I recommend this hotel to everybody who wants a little time off where they would feel like they were royalty. There is nothing that I would not commend at this stunning, spending, superb hotel!!!

| Good Points: | Laughable prices, superb luxury, superb chocolate, beer and seafood, excellent housekeeping, large and very clean washrooms, Chinese food superb, ambiance luxuriant |
| Bad Points: | Smallish pool |
From day one I fell in love with this place and through it with Goa. I love Chinese food and the Chef here is one in a million. So are the two lovely blokes who play the guitar in this restaurant.
One other thing that we enjoyed and appreciated is that the staff pool are very attentive and process a request into service in about 10 minutes. It is just great to have food and drinks served when you are in the pool.
The prices stunned us. Can you believe it?? For 80 pence you get a pint of Indian beer – Kingfisher, which by the way has its roots in Goa (Candolim). Out of the hotel you can get the same beer for about 40 pence. Unbelievable!!!! Unforgettable holiday!!! Best ever for both my wife and me!!

| Date of Stay: | September 2010 |
| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Stunning sea view rooms, pool too overlooks the sea, unmatched seafood dishes; best ever service, hugely helpful staff, well trained staff, high quality washroom toiletry; Net in room |
| Bad Points: | Cannot swim in the River; beach is quite some distance |
The only mood dampener was that the hotel was NOT on the beach as it was advertised online. We reserved a suite for 10 days based on that particular intelligence and when we found it is only on the River Bank we felt cheated.
But that feeling went away very fast for everything in this place is meant to pamper and spoil you. Greatly recommend the cake shop if you have a sweet tooth. Also recommend the seafood and Mediterranean cuisine. Panjim also has some superb restaurants – check out the Delhi Darbar. Also try out Edus restaurant close to the Mariott hotel on the main road.
I HAD A GALA TIME HERE! Thoroughly enjoyed myself.

| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | : Best staff ever, good location, not costly by European standards, most comfortable sunbeds, good gym, yummy seafood |
| Bad Points: | No beach – website is misleading; the hotel is on river bank; beach is a few km away |
Best thing I remember about my stay at Mariott is the smiling and extremely friendly staff. They welcomed and took care of me as if I was their long lost relative. Loved the feeling. It warmed my heart.
All other things were good – seafood is phenomenal. The sunset is stunning. The open air restaurant will take your breath away.
I hated to go home!! Never wanted the holiday to finish. Will come back again sooooooooooooooooon!!!!

| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | King’s breakfast; superb pool, close to Miramar beach though it is located on the banks of Manodvi River; professional and superbly trained staff; quick and friendly service |
| Bad Points: | --- |
Let me start here with special thank to Kunal and Deepa who constantly guided and helped us chose the best things to do and visit in Goa. Lovely people.
Food I loved; I am a food adventurer and tried almost everything on the Indian menu – and LOVED IT!! Rooms are huge, pleasant and well maintained. Housekeeping is flawless. Service is more than excellent.
We had a spectacular vacation and went home like two kids who discovered a candy shop that gave away free candy!!

Reserved one week during the peak season and simply loved it. There is no other way to put it and you cannot help but love this place. Just a few minutes from karmali station, we were picked up and treated like royalty the whole one week.
The Jacuzzi has been my highlight and of course the food. Antyhing you have is superb; all that is served is perfect and lipsmacking tasty.
Every day was an adventure. I never knew that you could have so much fun and enjoy a vacation so much. THANK YOU MARIOTT!!!

"PURE LUXURY – WHEN YOU DESERVE NOTHING BUT THE BEST!!!!!!!!!"
| Date of Stay: | February 2010 |
| I am from: | Bhubaneshwar, India |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Superb hotel, earned its 5-star status; everything is superlative |
| Bad Points: | Location; wold have preferred it on a beach rather than river |
For me the highlight was the Jacuzzi; you can book the Jacuzzi for your partner and you one day in advance. Ahhhhhhhhhhh… so much pleasure!!!
Another HUGE delight was the waffles at the breakfast buffet which is, by the way, enough for lunch and dinner.
The rooms are lovely and the view spectacular. The bar is immaculate and the bartender the best (it seems Edmund – was working earlier on a luxury liner in the USA).
Simply Fish is their open air restaurant; superb fish variety served here. We could not get enough of it even when we ate every day!! Costly true but worth every penny. This is fish or prawn not only made to order but cooked as per your preference. I thought only royalty had such privileges.
LUXORIOUS!! SPECTACULAR!! SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

"SUPERB HOTEL NOT SO GR8 LCOATION!!!!!!!!!!"
| Date of Stay: | April 2010 |
| I am from: | New Delhi, India |
| Trip Style: | Solo Traveler |
| Good Points: | Superb 5-star hotel with all trappings of a super luxurious lazy leisure life; excellent food, staff; too good spa; swimming pool |
| Bad Points: | Not close to beach but on a river bank; no plasma TV???; no bath tub; no beach close by |
I am not disappointed with the hotel. I think Mariott is a superb hotel. I was disappointed with the location. Coming from Delhi I am dying to be close to the beach and for me Goa is synonymous with lovely beaches. The river bed location is beautiful no less but it was not what I came to Goa for.
Another thing that put me off was that the TVs in the room were awfully outdated; no plasma which is expected very much in a 5-star hotel that charges 5-star tariff. The casino closes at 12 night – this is ridiculous for a leisure traveler; it should stay open until at least 2 AM
The rooms are plush and the view superb. Nothing to complain here. The service is prompt which I liked very much. I also liked the mirror play all around the Jacuzzi.
I had a slight feeling that the staff are biased towards foreigners (maybe for the tips); but I could not put my finger on it really.
View from pool is outstanding; no words can describe the delight you feel while in the pool watching the sea. Coffee shop also has a superb view.
Good Place if you do not mind the location !!

"I HAVE NOT YET SEEN BETTER!!!"
| Date of Stay: | February 2010 |
| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Swimming pool overlooking the sea; quick room service; food was more than excellent; huge breakfast buffet; welcome drink very refreshing; rooms hugely comfortable; daily activity chart provided by hotel so you can have a gala time without much effort |
| Bad Points: | Nothing I remember |
Were picked by some very friendly and smart looking people and whisked away to the hotel where they offered us a splendid blend of ice tea. We loved it. Rooms are totally 5-star!! Beds inviting and irresistible.
They offer huge breakfast buffet; we overate only by tasting all that is offered. Greatly recommend the spa and dolphin trip. The casino is a great idea and lovely place to get some moments of thrills.
Best for romantic getaway for everything is just as you like it and more!! GREATLY RECOMMENDED!!!

"Amazing Place; Amazing Experience!!"
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Ontario, Canada |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Service impeccable; staff marvelous; view spellbinding; food – OMG so good; open sea restaurant superb; 5 min drive from market in Panjim |
| Bad Points: | Very odd placed reception – on the 3rd floor |
It tookl us about 15 minutes to reach this place from the airport. I was expecting a decadent luxury lifestyle here, but what I got was even more. The tiger prawns and chocolate cake is something I will take with me for posterity. The staff are prompt and very helpful. Any room service order is in your room within 10 minutes.
The reception placed seemed very odd as it is situated on the 3rd floor; you have to go up to check in and then go to your room. Wonder who thought of this pecualiar model.
Another thing that delighted my wife and me was the pick up by speedboat right from the hotel beach to a amazing dolphin sighting trip. WOWWWW! No words for that!!
Elizabeth – a special thanks for all the superb coordination and guidance. Sanjay was our favorite bellboy for the vacation period.
AMAZING!!!! EVERYONE SHOULD TASTE A REAL HOLIDAY - JUST LIKE YOU GET HERE!!

"Smelly Place"
| Date of Stay: | December 2009 |
| I am from: | Oslo, Norway |
| Trip Style: | Solo Traveler |
| Good Points: | Central location, spacious rooms, nice pool, sea facing view is good, spa good; own casino |
| Bad Points: | Corridors smell of alcohol; rooms have an odd smell; no sound proof – you can hear people talking on corridors and boats starting at sea; expensive not worth the money |
Not what you want to have in a 5 star hotel. Leaves a lot to be desired in many aspects. The worst is the constant alcohol (or whatever) smell that drove me crazy.
Not what I expected from Mariott Group of Hotels; Leela is better any day!!
| Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? | Never |
