We visited Goa in a group of 10. Stayed near the lobby, which meant that the beach was just a few steps away. Beach was lovely. We had food at the Laranje’s Café and the cuisine was the best we had in India. The staff customized dishes for us many times to perfection.
Cidade deGoa is Groses hotel!!!!! Schonen Urlaub!!! Best holiday ever!!!

Loved the hotel. Swimming pool was children’s favorite place. He beach is private so no hawkers disturb. Also you need not bother to watch for your belongings as the hotel appointed secutiry guards to watch over. Service good. Already stayed here 3 times. Will come back again.

| Good Points: | Superb buffet spread, beautiful garden, private beach, attentive staff, WOW food |
| Bad Points: | Overpriced, isolated location |
We stayed at Cidade de Goa for 4 nights are loved it. The food which is easily the best feature of the hotel is overpriced, but unforgettable. The hotel is a little isolated and the taxis expensive. Better to rent taxis from outside or rent a car you drive for your stay. Beach was clean and wonderful.
Relaxing and pleasant holiday. Just take care of the details and you can save a fortune.

"BAD!!"

| Good Points: | Great property |
| Bad Points: | Dishonest staff, apathetic management, out to rob guests |
My wife and I stayed at this hotel earlier and we loved the property. We always stay in a suite. This time we checked in suite 308 and since my wife’s mother was to visit I had informed the front desk that she would come and stay during the day and leave at night. I was shocked to find in the end that they charged rupies 2500/ night for the whole 10 days we stayed. This was disgusting.
Then on two occasions I used spa facilties and paid in cash. This bills were also added on the room charges. When I pointed out, Ms Elsa at the front desk without checking out said that the club saude informed that I asked the bills charged. I was shocked that there was no investigation.
I am sorry to leave with such a bad impression of this hotel. Goa is so beautiful and people so great that this is really unaceeptable. Hope other guests check their bills carefully at checkout time.

"GROSSLY OVERRATED"
| Date of Stay: | April 2010 |
| I am from: | Yorkshire, UK |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Beautiful place, excellent staff |
| Bad Points: | Damp rooms; too expensive; noisy; location is bad – too isolated |
We came in April after hearing a lot from friends regading this hotel. The room we checked in was moldy and unaired. When we asked for an upgrade, we were informed that there are no rooms. There was some renovations in the adjacent rooms which kept us awake the whole night. We stayed for two nights and checked out.
Food was A1. We tried out the seafood, balchao and xacuti which was amazing. You should definitely try it out. This is the best here.
Better that you go to Anjuna side and stay at smaller hotels such as the Riviera de Goa. Food here is cheap and everything natural and fresh. I found this hotel’s rating overrated.

The property is phenomenal. Well maintained and beautiful. One of the things I appreciated the most is that the room service was superb. Everything was delivered on time and well. Staff was so great, courteous, friendly, helpful. The food was tasty and fresh. We loved the open air grilled seafood. This hotel is excellent on all accounts.

"Additively beautiful!!!"

| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Portuguese theme is mindblowing; staff very well trained; superb option of food; great seaside lounge |
| Bad Points: | For all inclusive meals you have to eat in the restaurant, which is always overcrowded; beach was a little small |
The hotel feels like it has been constructed and put there only for you. The feeling is great. The rooms, the staff, the food everything is just gr8. Nothing we asked the staff was too much. They were always ready to do whatever it took to make us happy. We were put in a room that did not give us a too gr8 view of the sea; you could see it only on the left side. When we told the management – and we were ready to argue our point – they immediately changed our room; no questions asked, no time wasted trying to convince us otherwise. Maybe it was that time that I got totally sold on this hotel.
Food is phenomenal. I stayed at many 5 star hotels, but I think Cidade offers some of the best prepared and presented dishes ever. We had tomato soup in a bread bowl, which is one of their specialty – and I loved it.
I did not like that I had to go to the restaurant since it was noisy and crowded. When we went to all the other restaurants, the ambiance was intoxicatingly beautiful.
I am addicted to Cidade; that is why I go at least twice in a year!!

"COmfortable! "
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Ajmer, India |
| Trip Style: | Solo Traveler |
| Good Points: | Elegant, luxurious, clean |
| Bad Points: | Expensive, isolated a little from the mainstream; allows outsiders in the pool |
Stayed for 4 days because I wanted a break. Found the food superb; swam off the extra pounds and then again ate. Good place if you want a few days off for relaxation. If you are on a longer holiday, you might get a little bored however.
I was not too impressed by the fact Cidade allows outsiders to take a loud and splashy dip into the pool. I am also not too impressed about the fact that people spit paan (beetle leaves) and spit where children play. Gross. It requires maintenance. We could always renew it.
There are good things about this place, too. One is food, and the other is staff.

"WOW!!"

| I am from: | Delhi, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Good options for veggies; very comfy rooms; staff super efficient and hospitable |
| Bad Points: | I cannot think of anything negative about this place |
This is my 5th time I am staying at the Cidade de Goa. I love it here because everything from people to local ambiance make you feel welcome and happy. The guest care is something that very few hotels manage to offer. The staff are punctual, very professional in all aspects of their duty, yet they all are as friendly as you would find your relatives while visiting them. I had locked myself out a couple of times and every time, the front desk manager came in person to hand me the duplicate keys ensuring me that “… this happens all the time around here!” I don’t think anything can be sweeter than this.
The food is something you should see to believe. My friends who stayed at the celebrated Taj Aguada were simply stunned to see the vast array of food offered at the Cidade.
No wonder I am so in love with the place that I cannot even dream of staying at any other place. Full marks to this hotel on ALL aspects you can think of!!! WOW!

"IMPRESSED!!"
| Date of Stay: | August 2010 |
| I am from: | Singapore |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Airport transfers and breakfast inclusive in tariff; superb food; staff very attentive and efficient |
| Bad Points: | Casino a little outdated, night club not too good |
The best part of this hotel is the classic side which you will find on the left of the main lobby. I had a room almost on the beach; in the morning the patio was aglow with golden rays of the sun. Breathtakingly beautiful!!!
I am coming from a land where spicy food is good and I love spices. I loved the vindaloo (a great Goan pork specialty). The seafood also was out of this world. What I loved is that the prices are cool. You would end up paying about $50 for a complete meal for two.
The hotel is cozy, yet luxurious and comfortable. I loved this Cidade much better than Hyatt or Taj Exotica especially for this feature. In the other hotels you end up walking too much as the distance between any two points of interest within the hotel is too vast.
I was impressed with the staff, who greeted me by the name wherever I went from the second day onwards.
This is one marv place!!!
