"AN BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!"
| Date of Stay: | August 2010 |
| I am from: | Buckinghamshire, UK |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Superb staff and service, great location, yummy food |
| Bad Points: | Hawkers are kill-joy on the beach; not adequate sunbeds at the poolside; no safes available |
Ours was a honeymoon vacation and we enjoyed the stay so much. The staff were exceptionally friendly. They put flowers in our room every day of our 15 days stay – and on the bed. Pretty sweet gesture. The buffet food was lovely – we could not have enough.
The barman is superb; we loved him. His name is Clint – get him make you his special cocktail, which he named ‘tiger’ – WOW!! We so loved it.
Rooms are basic but very comfortable. Ask for rooms with new aircon for the machines could be quite noisy.
We were recommended the rice boat excursion trip – and for honeymooners it is the best that can be. Taxis are pricey; hire by the day as this works out best.
We loved it here!! Had a great honeymoon!!

"Fantastic Place – MEMORABLE VACATION!!!!!"
| Date of Stay: | November 2010 |
| I am from: | Toronto, Canada |
| Trip Style: | Group of friends |
| Good Points: | Good location, Indian food is good, many Brits and European guests which made for a very friendly atmosphere |
| Bad Points: | Entertainment nights offers no Goan or Indian music, mosquitoes kill you, gruesome entertainment nights |
This is just 20 minutes away from the airport which makes it a hot favorite for many tourists. The hotel is good by Asian standards, which means it is clean and functional. You get filtered drinking water from water coolers all over the hotel at no charge – this was very appreciated. Stay at the Grande Club room if you want the best there is.
Loved the food, though service could definitely improve. There have been instances when we had to walk up to the barman to have a refill for he was too busy watching TV or chatting with other staff!!
Food is good and we had an all inclusive deal – but it can get repetitive and dull; most focus is on veg food, which was not bad at all. Avoid at all cost eating at Starfish shack. They charge as they please – the maximum they could get away with. If you want a good deal – go to the Mickey’s on Colva beach or Martin’s Corner at Betalbetim – best seafood you will ever have.
HAD A GOOD VACATION!!

"GOOD PLACE STILL!! "
| Date of Stay: | September 2010 |
| I am from: | Manchester, UK |
| Trip Style: | Solo Traveler |
| Good Points: | Seclusion is good for me, comfortable rooms, veg food superb |
| Bad Points: | Maintenance is poor, need refurbishing, staff should be a little more alive |
Had been here last time in 2007 and I am comparing the previous time with the present. I was happier last time with the hospitality of this hotel. It seemed that this time the hotel’s glory is dying slowly. The pool, which was one of the huge attractions looked pretty neglected and the sunbeds were not enough.
I loved the food but that is because I am in love with curries. My two friends did not relish it much. The beach shack offers good food, but charges on par with 5-star hotels, which means it is cheating. Want shack food, go a little further (some 20-30 minutes walk) down the beach to Roasary – superb food, superb people and proper pricing. In the Hotel definitely taste chicken tika at the Mango Terrace. All seafood is A1 here.
The beauty of the beach is spoilt by plastic bottles and stuff that lies all over. The hotel could have paid somebody to remove all the debris as it is such an eyesore.
They have a good activity room, but this is also used as a conference room so we could not use for 3 days out of our 10 days stay due to this.
I am sorry to see this hotel’s magnificence diminishing. Hope they redeem it soon before it becomes a washed out place. STILL GOOD, but has potential for much more!!!

"SUPERB TIME IN GOA!!"
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Cochin, India |
| Trip Style: | Group of friends |
| Good Points: | Good location, Mango Terrace serves superb food |
| Bad Points: | Sunbeds are not enough, meat dishes could have been better, entertainment at night is terrible |
Travelled in a huge group of 15 and we had lots of fun. But that could be a little more because we were a large group than because the hotel was great.
The rooms that they gave us first were not so good- too much noise was filtering in from the poolside. We were given new accommodation after complaining and the second lot was much much better. The hotel is good but you can see that it needs renovation.
Food is repetitive at the buffet and the meat quality poor – mostly bones. However, you get two coupons per week for Mango Terrace which serves superb food. Beware of the beach shacks surrounding this hotel – they overcharge like crazy. Ask the price of every dish before ordering; we were cheated pretty bad ourselves.
The hotel is overall good, but not 4-star level. Nonetheless, we loved our stay here for we had a superb time!!

" A GOOD VACATION!!"
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Isle of Bute |
| Trip Style: | Romantic/Honeymoon |
| Good Points: | Secluded location ideal for honeymooners |
| Bad Points: | Not much activity inside the hotel |
We came here for a delayed honeymoon and loved the seclusion of the place. The beach was not as clean as we expected, but we enjoyed our walking to Colva and having coffee so many times.
The beach shack food is good – but so is the hotel food, especially the king fish. I missed having the refrigerator in the room – most Goa hotels have them – but other than that the rooms were comfortable. There is no noise from other rooms bothering us at night, which is a great plus point.
Staff are friendly and helpful and the housekeeping cleans the rooms every day. The hotel needs some maintenance and upgradation but overall is till impressive.
We loved the place; stayed for 15 days and seen half of Goa closely. Had a good vacation.

"BORING PLACE!!"
| Date of Stay: | July 2010 |
| I am from: | Harlow, UK |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Location is good, buffet food is okay |
| Bad Points: | No activities even at Christmas time, pool terrible, lots of noise in the name of entertainment, terrible bar snacks, barmen and waiter sleeping on their feet |
Reserved 10 days here and were looking forward to a great vacation. The place is nothing like it is presented on the welcome page. What surprised us very much is that this place was dull even at the peak of the peak times – Christmas and New Year!!
I liked the buffet food, but my husband (and many other people at the hotel) were constantly sick – I suspect the food. Beach is full of rusty nails and discarded syringes. Watch out!!
We left after 5 days and they refunded only 3 days; not a place I would return.

"NOT 4-Star AT ALL!!"
| Date of Stay: | July 2010 |
| I am from: | London, UK |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Good location, good housekeeping, good food at Mango Terrace |
| Bad Points: | Water from tap smelled of sewage, the beach littered with garbage, staff enjoying their own breaks, pool is at the deepest only 5 ft |
We reserved two rooms for 3 nights on an impulse while we were moving out of Goa. We had backpacked throughout Goa and we wanted a brief interlude of luxury before we return home. Since this is close to the airport we planned to end our holiday in a grand finale. It was not to be.
The atmosphere in this hotel cannot be more depressing. The rooms are okay and the housekeeping great – but the key staff, such as barmen, waiters are in their own world. The pool was hot and uninviting; the beach littered with all type of garbage – we were so disappointed.
Food was good – especially at the Mango Terrace. The fish served here is simply perfect.
Overall VERY DISAPPOINTING. Definitely not 4-star material. Seen better 2-star hotels than this!!
