"So Disappointing and Sad!!"
| Date of Stay: | September 2010 |
| I am from: | Pune, India |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Typical 3-star resort, big rooms |
| Bad Points: | Service appalling, food bad, amenities poor |
We booked through an agent and thought we had a super deal until we realized it was not so.
Nothing worked – not the water, not the Jacuzzi, nto the spa, not the air conditioner. It seemed were always on the phone asking for one thing or other. When things came is order, found the spa was very expensive. Swimming pool was always full of people fully clothed – pretty awful – even if there was a big sign that people who use the pool should wear a swimming suit.
Food was unimaginative though in plenty. Buffets seemed to be made for people who ate a lot but wanted no variety. Taste of food was awful. Had to eat out most of the time, thought we paid for the meals.
To add to my woes, I lost my cell phone; I suspect it was stolen from the room, but I am not very sure so I will not pin this on the hotel. Air conditioner was awfully noisy and every other day would stop.
Did not like our stay. Expected much more and we were awfully disappointed. Maybe we went at a bad time; but our holiday was ruined

Had a superb package deal on this one and stayed 4 nights and 5 days. You can’t compare it with any other hotels. Its everything you wanted – great rooms, great food, superb pool, and best ofall great people all around you.
Loved every minutes of the stay!!!

"Not So Great!!"
| Date of Stay: | August 2010 |
| I am from: | Nevada, USA |
| Trip Style: | Group of friends |
| Good Points: | Great property |
| Bad Points: | Nothing really works here |
We revered three rooms in this hotel after reading so many great reviews about it. However, for us it did not work!!
They forgot to pick us up and we had to wait for them to sort things out when we informed that our flights would be delayed. The rooms they had us checked in were not the rooms we paid for and there was some noise on this before we were redirected to the correct rooms. Once we settled in we found that the water from the tap was muddy brown. It took some two hours until the water came out clean.
The balcony was inclined inside the rooms and every time it rained, water got inside the rooms almost flooding it.
The restaurant was always over crowded and overly noisy. You could not think of eating a meal comfortably in such a place. The beach is close but that is no advantage because you can take a swim here; waters are dangerous. The nearest bathing beach is about 6 miles away.
Nothing worked for us. We left in half the time we had booked for we were miserable here.
Not so great after all!!

"Lovely Place On Sinquerim!!"
| Date of Stay: | September 2010 |
| I am from: | Mumbai, India |
| Trip Style: | Leisure |
| Good Points: | Very attentive and hospitable, meal coupons cut price of food by almost half, free Net; great quality toiletries, |
| Bad Points: | No double beds; joining beds are uncomfortable as these shift away at night, housekeeping a bit sluggish |
Everything at this hotel is superlative – no exaggeration. We checked in in June which is off season but the hotel was full. There was full rush here. The housekeeping is slow – maybe overworked. We discovered that a small tip works wonders. Tip them in advance and they will keep your room sparkling.
The breakfast buffet is a treat to the eyes and palate. They have food coupons which will help you save a lot. I loved the fact that when we were received at the Thivim station, they had waiting for us cold and refreshing water. Small but very thoughtful gesture, which impressed us plenty.
Similarly, the staff went out of their way on every occasion to see that we were happy and settled.
This is a great place to have a holiday; not as much for the great property – rooms are great – but for the superb ambiance offered here.

"AN EXPERIENCE I WILL CHERISH FOREVER!!"
| Date of Stay: | December 2009 |
| I am from: | New York, USA |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | High standard rooms, amazing staff, stunning premises |
| Bad Points: | NONE |
We were prepared for the gap that exists between Western standards in hotels and Asian standards. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in our Villa at Whispering Palms Beach Resort and found it luxurious and comfortable like a 5-star hotel.
The staff treated us like royalty from day 1 until we took our taxi to airport. The premises are large and superbly maintained. The food is typical Indian, which we loved; we also loved the continental food served here and the fact that the chef/ cook easily agreed to give special touches to the food is requested. There is warmth and welcome at every corner of this majestic hotel.
They gave a remarkable anti-mosquito "Odomos cream" that was super effective against these pests.
The evening entertainment nights were good; would have it even better if they played more Goan songs. The English songs were from the 70s hits and were pleasant to the ear.
The place has wifi connectivity which is strong and good. It is not charged like in other hotels. The breakfast is superb with both continental and Indian choices. We loved the idli and sambhar. There were fresh fruits at every breakfast.
The beach is close, but the best to enjoy is the Baga beach. Sinqurim beach has dangerous waters; Calangute is too crowded. Baga is superb.
This was one of the most beautiful holidays we had!!!

"An OK place!!"
| Date of Stay: | June 2010 |
| I am from: | Hyderabad, India |
| Trip Style: | Business |
| Good Points: | Staff genuinely helpful, large property, buffet food was superb |
| Bad Points: | Limited fare in veg food in alacarte mode, rooms fatigued, seepage in many rooms |
Had been to this place with 80 of our staff for a business event. Got the scope to check many of the rooms. Overall it is a great property, but there were rooms where seepage was glaring and air conditioner was not working. The management did not provide tea/coffee maker in the room.
On the positive side, the staff was amazing. They loved to help without any expectation of tipping; and we loved their friendly manner. The buffet spread was fit for a king with enough choices for both veg and non-veg preferences.
Value for money. Could be better if renovated!

"WHOOOOPPPPYY!! THE HOLIDAY OF MY DREAMS!!!"
| Date of Stay: | August 2010 |
| I am from: | Kentucky, USA |
| Trip Style: | Family & Kids |
| Good Points: | Superlative 3-star, amazing staff, 2 minutes from the beach |
| Bad Points: | What negative points?? |
Choosing the Whispering palms must have been the best move we made in a long time. We just picked it up on the Net and we are so happy that we did. The rooms were large, clean, smelling fresh and with good and new air conditioners. The hotel is like this for a long time because I was stunned to meet people who are returning here on a regular basis for the past 15 years!!!!
The beach is just some 5 min away. The guests are multi national; we found English people, French, Indian, Australian and may be more. It gives you a very wonderful feeling to be in a place with so many different nationality people; made plenty of friends.
We loved that the staff greeted us by name and always had a smile on their face no matter what we asked them to do.
Everything, even the Goa weather was perfect. We will DEFINITELY come back to this hotel again!!!
