Comment:

Just a few minutes across the river by boat this is a hotel that can really relax you. Right on the bank of the River Sal the setting of this place is such that you can witness some of the most amazing sunsets and sunrises from here.

The boat will take you across the river to two lovely cozy – almost private – beaches. Cavelossim has a number of beach shacks that you can enjoy for snacks and lovely fresh seafood.

On lazy days you could just watch the birds – and they are so many that I have 5076 photographs of wildlife alone. I am setting up my own photo stock website!!! There are kites/eagles, kingfishers, and what not.

For seafood once again this place is heaven on earth. Enjoy the famous numero uno – kingfish which is indeed WOW! You also have a choice of squid, mussels, shark, tuna, mackerel, sea crabs, lobsters and much more. We went wild on seafood here – and boy, did we enjoy it!!

Whatever you do in Riversal hotel you come up as a winner. We will definitely come back for more whenever we can next. UNFORGETTABLE PLACE!!

Good Points: Beautiful beach just across the river, bird-watchers paradise, dolphin sighting trips
Bad Points: It is a bit isolated from the rest of the Goa
Comment:

This is the 5th time we are coming here and we love this place so much. It is right on the river and full of birds and fish and dolphins. It is just amazing to watch nature from the banks of this river. Cross the river and you come on two most tranquil and picturesque beaches – the Mobor and the Cavelossim beaches.

The bloke at the hotel took us a number of time into the fishermen’s village and we got our fish as fresh as it can be. We also went on fishing expedition and on that day we ate what we caught. WOW! This is indeed life on vacation.

We love this place so much that we cannot wait to come back every year – we are just trying to stretch the vacation time a little longer every time we arrive.

Sydon is the owner and jolly type of bloke. He is money minded – this is obvious but he is also a great host and genuinely wants his guests to be happy and love the place. It is not wrong for the guy to try to make a living out of this place – it is simply fascinating.

A word of warning though – the night life and the hullabaloo of the tourists are left far off on Calangute beach and the like. This is not a place for party and loud-fun lovers. You will love this place only if nature is your thing. My parents and my husband both love nature and I find nothing more delightful than watching birds or trekking along the riverside.

My all time favorite!! Now I understand why so many of my friends love Goa!!

Good Points: Clean rooms, wonderful view of the River Sal, good amenities
Bad Points: Location of the hotel is on the wrong side of the River; hotel has not boat
Comment:

I liked the place immediately as we checked in. It is clean, beautiful and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The view is superb. The food is great even though is a little pricey.

Very soon however, we realized that we are literally trapped in the hotel. All the entertainment – the Goa we came to see – is on the other side of the River. That means about 45 minutes by car or getting a ferry to take you on the other side. For a boat you need to book it well in advance and the taxi costs an arm and a leg. So there goes your impromptu vacationing spirit. Everything has to be planned one day in advance – and that kind of kills the joy of the vacationing.

The owner of the place is a swell guy but he is out to make a buck and that is too transparent. The hotel was too thinly populated even in the peak season of December so I understand why. But that does not help too much.

We moved out to another place in Calangute that charged us twice the amount but hey, it was in the center of the happening life. The hotel is nice – if you want to spend all time relaxing by the pool. But if you are vacationing to see Goa – then, this place is a definite NO-NO!

Perhaps if they provided a complimentary transfer or discounted rate boat/ transport to the other side of the river, this hotel will definitely look up on the popularity scale.
